UNITED ALLIANCE BOARD VOTES TO CONTINUE PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Legrand

The United ALliance Board met Sunday Feb. 11 to consider the United Alliance Futbol Club's future.

The board voted for UFSC to continue to provide Houston a lower cost, more flexible approach to competitive soccer. While United Alliance has seen some loss in teams to the new local club, the board expects that the UA low cost, high flexibility strategy will bring new as well as current teams to the club.

United Alliance FC has served the Bay Area Soccer Association for 27 years. There has been many years of excitement and success as well as challenges.

Several years ago, United Alliance aquired leased property to develop into home fields for the club, but with the fields came a major financial commitment. Changes in the soccer community and loss of some teams have impacted our club and strained UAFC financial health.

The board voted to keep the UAFC club intact and select a committee to develop our club strategy to meet and beat new challenges.  We will remain a club within the Bay Area Youth Soccer Association.

At the board meeting the club decided to exit the fields lease, and Quest Youth Soccer offered fields for our use. We will continue to practice on the Bay Area fields through May then move practices to Quest fields.

The board present were:
President - David LeGrand
Vice Pesident - Glen Schultz
Treasurer - Open
Registrar - Jerry Nosky
Secretary - Charles Brown

Public Relations - Doug Peterson

I hope this will answer most of the questions that teams may have about our future,  Please call me if you have any questions - David LeGrand - 713-303-3968.
