Congratulations to the Crosby Burn Team!
The Crosby Burn, coached by Randy Garner earned Second Place in finals of the Texas State Tournament in the boys Under -19 age bracket. The tournament was held in San Antonio over the weekend of 13-14 December, 2008. The Burn finished with a 2-1 tournament record. The eventual tournament winners also finished with a 2-1 record loosing to the Crosby team in the final match. The Crosby defense led by Elliott Trippel held the opposition to 3 goals and one shutout. The offense scored 3 times with goals by Kevin Lyons, Steven Abernethy, and Javier Garza. The Burn played for East Lake Houston Youth Soccer Association, Crosby’s local club team, where they had a 9-1-0 regular season, Eastern District playoff season of 3-2-0 and combined with State, an overall 14-4-0 season. Most of the Burn players will be playing soccer for the Crosby High School team starting in January. The Burn players and parents thank Coach Garner for his years of support and dedication.
